In the Chinese magazine Zhiyin (November 2008, No. 440, page 4) there was a documentary article titled "Again in the Season When Lilacs Blossom." It started like this:

"On August 10, 2008, 15 people underwent heart transplant surgery. They had been gathered together in a group organized by Liao Chongxian, the director of the Heart Disease Center of Zongshan Affiliated Hospital of Shamen University Hospital. It is the first time that Fujian Province had ever hosted such an event. Among those involved, Liu Jinhua from Guizhou Province was the most remarkable......"

Liu Jinhua is from the Reservoir Section of Gongping Village, Guancang Town, Tongzi County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. He suffered from a genetic heart disease. At 8 a.m. on November 8, 2003, he underwent a successful heart transplant in Zhongshan Hospital. The surgery was conducted by Liao Chongxian; assisted by Yang Qian, the deputy director of the Heart Disease Center of the hospital; Dr. Shan Zhonggui; and other students of Dr. Liao. The article gave no information about the source of the transplanted heart.

According to the article, in March 2003, Liao Chongxian carried out a heart transplant operation on a patient from Jiangxi Province, but no information about the source of the transplanted heart was provided. Besides the heart for Liu Jinhua, where the transplanted hearts for the other 14 people came from is worth investigating.
